Lisbon was a beautiful, old city and Assurity knows how to wine and dine. We stayed at the Four Seasons which was a great location, safe and close to everything. We did several excursions, my favorite being the trip to Sintra. Sintra is a castle that the King and Queen of Portugal built in the 1800's. It was breathtaking! The surrounding plants were imported from all over the world... beautiful! On the way back from Sintra we traveled down the coastal villages, gorgeous views! I would love to go back to stay in one of my favorite beach villages called Casicias. I loved seeing the castles on the beaches and the old light houses. We spend another fun day exploring the city in Go Cars, teeny-tiny yellow cars with no tops. We had so much fun seeing the city that way. Aaron barely fit in the car and his helmet hardly fit his head, lots of good laughs and a few close calls on the highway! The evenings were a great time as well. We went to beautiful spots in the city for dinners and met many great new friends. The trip was too wonderful for words, I think even Aaron would agree. The food was amazing, the wine was (over) flowing, the weather was nice and we met people from all of the country that we will see again on future Assurity trips. We even spotted a pick pocketer getting attacked by civilians after stealing their bag, pretty exciting!
I think it's safe to say we could both get used to traveling Assurity style. Next years leader's conference is in Bermuda. This is more of Aaron's speed and I am looking forward to exploring a new tropical beach! Let's just hope we make it through the triangle :)
Here are our vaca pics.
