5 Months Old!

As expected time is flying by, and with each new facial expression and babble we fall more in love.  As their individual personalities emerge we notice how they are similar and even more, how they differ. In the last month we had our first night away for NYE. It was easier than I thought it would be and we enjoyed our time away with each other and friends. The little people started sleeping in their own rooms as of January 2nd. It is so nice to have a bedtime routine for them and to have our room back! Both babies are nearly 10 pounds over their birth weights!

Here are what Grayson and Hallie are up to this month.

GRAYSON
14lbs (just under at their last checkup so we assume 14 plus!)
24 inches long
Eyes have stayed a beautiful bright blue and his hair is dirty blonde and thickening up.
Smiling all the time and starting to laugh at faces.
Cooing and babbling constantly and even squeals.
Sleeping in his own bed from 9am - 5am, that is, when I don't wake him to keep he and Hallie on the same schedule.
Eatting up to 8 ounces at once... Big boy!
Reaching for toys but not yet grabbing, almost!
Holding objects if placed in his grip.
Laughing and responding to Mickey Mouse Playhouse.
Loves to listen to music with mommy.
Happy (or sound asleep) in the car seat.
Cries (really) hard when he wants food or attention (this makes daddy and mommy laugh).
Smiles, laughs and talks at his sister.
G has discovered his tongue and we see it often when he smiles.
Sits up in the Bumbo chair for a few minutes at a time and holds his head up like a big boy!
Naps well after a walk in the stroller... This is our new routine on nice days so I can have a few minutes to clean, rest or pump.

HALLIE
12lbs (11.4 at last check up so assume she is up to 12)
Inches
Eyes are getting a little darker and may be changing to a hazel or brown.
Smiling all the time, but not quite laughing.
Cooing and babbling (softer and quieter than brother).
Sleeping in her own crib from 9-2 or 3. She has gone longer a few times, but we can usually count on a 2am wake up call.
Eats up to 6 ounces at once. Trying to catch up with brother!
Loves looking at her hands and folding them together. It's so sweet.
Can hold objects if placed in her grip.
Has a soft cry unless she's really tired or hungry.
Laughing and responding to Mickey Mouse Playhouse.
Smiles, talks and laughs at her brother.
Sits in a Bumbo chair for a few minutes and holds her head up.
Naps well after a walk in the stroller... and not well, otherwise. Little stinker.
