2013 Highlights

I've clearly proven I'm not a committed blogger, but will commit to a periodical post here and there!

2012 was a year of ups and downs for our family, but 2013 turned out to be year full of blessings and new beginnings we were so grateful for.

Here is what we have been up to lately.

Over the summer our church leaders asked for us to consider leading a Life Group. Our initial reaction was; wow, that is a huge commitment, and it is. After some time in prayer we realized that it would be a great opportunity for growth for us both. We decided to do it. We host at our house once a week, focusing our studies on our current series at church, serving the community and getting to know one another on a personal level; sharing our spiritual lives. We have an awesome group and are looking forward to a great first year.

Another exciting journey we started last year was our fertility journey. After nearly 12 months of 'trying' to start our family we decided to seek professional help.  Dr. Le was recommended to us by our close family friends who had success in starting their own family with his help. I was a little apprehensive to pull the trigger; not wanting to take things in my own hands versus trusting God's will and direction. When we sat down for our consultation Dr Le started the conversation telling us, 'Every baby is nothing less than a miracle from God, we are just tools He uses to assist in the process'. My mind was  immediately at ease! After an evaluation he was confident in our ability to conceive. We we're excited and anxious to get started! On December 3rd (our 3 year anniversary) we had our first IUI procedure. Our first two attempts have not been successful, but we are fully trusting His plan for our family. I know without a doubt, when we are blessed with a son or daughter we will not have wished to change anything about our journey. We are being taught to be patient and trust in His timing and I am ok with that! We can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for us!

In 2013 we enjoyed a trip to New Orleans for a beautiful wedding with a great group of friends,   vacation in Bermuda and a family road trip to our favorite spot, Broken Bow.  If only I had more vacation time! The holidays were as wonderful with family as they always are.
